Authorities and Responsibilities 
The Board of Review is governed and authorized by the General Property Tax Act, Public Act 206 of 1893, MCL 211.28 to 211.33.  The Board of Review examines and reviews the assessment roll for the current year as prepared by the supervisor/assessor. Adds property omitted from the assessment roll. Corrects errors in names, descriptions of property, and the assessment and valuation of property. Hears taxpayer appeals and indorses the completed assessment roll.

The Board of Review is made up of three, six or nine members appointed by the township board. At least 2/3 of the members shall be property taxpayers of the township. A member of the township board may not serve on the board of review or fill any vacancy. A spouse, mother, father, sister, brother, son or daughter, including an adopted child, of the assessor is not eligible to serve on the board or fill any vacancy.  Members may be compensated.

The Bridgewater Township Board of Review for 2022 will be held at the Bridgewater Township Hall, 10990 Clinton Road, Manchester, Ml 48158 on the following dates:

Tuesday, March 8, 2022 at 7:00 pm - Organizational Meeting
Monday, March 14, 2022 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.- Appeal Hearing
Tuesday, March 15, 2022 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 pm and 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. – Appeal Hearing

The Board of Review will meet as many more days as deemed necessary to hear questions, protests, and to equalize the 2022 assessments. By Board resolution, residents are able to protest by letter, provided protest letter is received prior to March 15, 2022.

The tentative ratios and estimated multipliers for each class of real property and personal property for 2022 are as follows:

Mission Statement

The Bridgewater Township Board of Trustees adopted a mission statement at its December 20, 2006 meeting: "To provide our constituents a people-focused approach to public service built upon the simplicity and efficiency of rural government where all public bodies work closely together to be more responsive to the public's needs."
